John Ed Lewis, Sr., born October 24, 1922, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the age of 89. Mr. Lewis was a native and lifetime resident of San Antonio and a longtime member of McArthur Park Church of Christ. He served in the US Army during World War II. He retired from Civil Service and later worked at Trinity University. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years Mittie L. Lewis, daughters Ruth Schaeferkoeter and husband Kenneth, Eva Thompson and husband Glenn and Marsha Miller MenNe and husband Willard, son John E. Lewis, Jr. and wife Teresa, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends. SERVICES Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2012 from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. at Mission Park South. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Interment will follow in Mission Burial Park South.
