It's been almost 9 months now since my little Daddy went to be with Jesus. We missed his presence at Hannah's wedding last month. It really goes without saying how very much my Daddy shaped and influenced and filled my life.
We were out in the boat last weekend and we were reminded of the many fishing trips that "Grandaddy" made with us. We were telling our new son in law, Dustin, that Daddy would sit in the back

We were out in the boat last weekend and we were reminded of the many fishing trips that "Grandaddy" made with us. We were telling our new son in law, Dustin, that Daddy would sit in the back of the boat and catch more fish than all of the others in the boat put together. He was a regular fish attractor. Some of my favorite memories of childhood are of Daddy taking me fishing. Those were special relaxing sweet times spent with my Daddy.
I would like to thank my Husband Michael for being Dads "little buddy" for the last few years of his life. Michael was so patient with him. Thank you to everyone who helped us through the very difficult days right after Daddy passed. Love to my siblings, Preston, Dale, Mona and Glenda. We have a great legacy and many fantastic stories to tell Daddy's great-grandchildren.

However heavy our hearts, we would like to express our deep gratitude for the love and kindness so many people have shown us. Your words of memory and support have helped us through this extremely difficult time. Daddy was a wealth of knowledge from the 100+ years he had on this earth. All of his children know the multitudes of stories from his life's experiences. There are so many things that we gained by having a father who was much

He loved in his own time & way, taught us self respect, work ethic, the importance of education, and so much more. He loved his children and grandchildren deeply, and will be missed by us all. To you John Earl Plaxco, we tip our hats and give our hearts forever with all our love.

When I was young, I worked with him quite a bit (as did most of his kids). He had me do things on occasion that seemed (at the time) impossible for a kid my age .... but somehow I did them. I didn't dare disappoint him - he was Superman! He used some sayings that have stayed with me to this day: 'Don't go anywhere empty-handed', 'If you aren't busy, look busy - pick up a broom', 'If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right'. Rarely were they spoken in a scolding manner; just reminders of what he expected. Life lessons. I don't know if I ever told him that those simple little thoughts have remained with me and helped shape me. What a shame. As my Uncle Don said in an earlier entry, I will miss him forever.

Dear Myra, Mona, Glenda & Plaxco family: I was so sorry to hear about your father. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as your make your way, with God's help, through this difficult time. This passage comes to mind.... Romans 8:38-39 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Preston and Dale, knowing John E much longer than you two He was one of the hardest working, nicest men I ever knew. He did the jobs on the water towers and flag poles that most men were afraid to do and on the boilers that were too hot and hard to do. I will miss him forever.
