John E. Plaxco of Spiro, Oklahoma was born February 1, 1909, in Rains County, Texas to John Andrew and Minni Bell (Whitus) Plaxco and passed away October 30, 2009, in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 100. He is survived by; Three Daughters Myra Skelton and husband Michael of Spiro, Oklahoma Mona King and husband Duwayne of Vinita, Oklahoma Glenda Votaw and husband Steven of Vinita, Oklahoma Two Sons Preston Plaxco and wife Denise of Seattle, Washington Dale Plaxco and wife Becky of Ft. Smith, Arkansas Two Brothers Ralph Plaxco of Greenville, Texas Lem Plaxco of Greenville, Texas 11 Grandchildren Kellen Plaxco, Meghan Jones, Matthew Plaxco, Miranda Skelton, Lauren Plaxco, Hannah Skelton, A.J. King, Jessica Votaw, Sean Votaw, Zac King, Kealey King He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lucia; a sister Zora Privitte and two brothers Aaron and Frank Plaxco. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Spiro. He was a loving father and grandfather who loved to spend time with his family especially his grandkids. He also enjoyed gardening. He was the hardest working man his family ever knew. John was an avid sports fan who enjoyed the Cardinals baseball and college football
