John F. Stroh was born on September 29, 1942 in Akron, Ohio. His parents were John and Dorothy (nee Bauer) and they were of German and English descent. He died on Monday, August 5, 2013, peacefully at his home in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He was 70 years of age. John was a resident of Bloomfield Hills for 26 years and a former resident of Troy. He graduated in 1960 from Garfield High School, Akron, OH and then he graduated from Wayne State University, Detroit with his degree in Marketing. He was a longtime marketing executive and manufacturer's representative in the Detroit automotive industry. He was a former member and board member of the Birmingham Country Club and a former member of the Heathers Club in Bloomfield Hills. He loved coaching his daughter's sports and was past-president of the Marian Athletic Club. He also served as president of his neighborhood homeowners association. He enjoyed playing golf, American history and was a Civil War buff. John was an avid Buckeye fan….he was always looking forward to the college football season. Beloved husband of Kathy Stroh (nee Caserio) and they were married for 34 years. Father of Kristin Winkel (Dave), John Stroh (Jacqueline) and James Stroh (Marilyn). Brother of Mary Redle (David). Also survived by five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Brother-in-law of Richard Caserio (Patricia), Joseph Caserio (Karen) and Patricia Clark (Kevin). Family will receive friends at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Avenue, Royal Oak, Friday, August 9, 2013 after 10a.m. until memorial service at 11a.m. In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial tributes to the Marian High School Athletic Dept, 7225 Lahser Rd., Bloomfield Hills, MI 48301 or Noah's Light Foundation, 446 West Plant St., Winter Garden, FL 34787 or The Game Of your Life Foundation (G.O.L.F.) 491 Jonesville Rd., Coldwater, MI 49036.
