Hartl
John Henry Hartl, age 86, of Hamilton Arms Center, Lancaster, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2012.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Jack and Mildred Hartl and husband of the late Cecelia May Jeffries Hartl, who died in June 2000.

John retired from Armstrong World Industries after 45 years.

Among the many things that John enjoyed were automobile trips with his family to the shore and mountains; various types of outdoor music festivals and the tomato festival.

He served in the US. Navy on a destroyer escort during World War II.

Three daughters: Susan M. Hartl, of Lancaster, Judy Beats, of New Providence, Teresa M. Grimm, New Providence, a son Jon J. Hartl, of Manheim, eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren survive John. A grandson Bradley P. Beats; two brothers Donald and Joseph and a sister Margaret Hartl preceded John in death.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend John's Life Celebration Funeral Service at the Funeral Home of Fred F. Groff, Inc., 234 W. Orange St., Lancaster, PA, on Thursday at 11:30 AM with the Rev. Msgr. Thomas H. Smith officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Burial Park.
