John S. Hornby, age 61, passed away August 31, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He was preceded in death by his father William. He is survived by his mother Mary Ann; brothers Joe (Linda), Jim (Diane) and Jesse, nephews; Quentin Hornby, Jack Lowe and Jesse Simmons, nieces Crystal Zenthoefer & Amber Simmons.

John was a long time dairy farmer. He worked at Dewig Meats of Haubstadt and was voted best of the best butcher of the year in Gibson County for the last four years. John was a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed watching the military and history channels as well as squirrel hunting.

Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Tuesday September 4, 2012 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Lynnville. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pemberton-Bradley Funeral Home in Lynnville and also one hour prior to service at church. Interment Lynnville Cemetery.
