John J. Gregosh, Jr., age 77, a lifelong resident of Clarks Summit, passed away Friday morning under the care of Northeast Hospice at Regional Hospital in Scranton. He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Greenfield. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 26th. Born in Clarks Summit on May 14, 1934, son of the late John J., Sr., and Anna Tirpak Gregosh, after a career in construction, he had worked for Construction Unlimited of Avoca prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Church in Old Forge. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening in his garden. A fun-loving and easy-loving man who would do anything for anyone, he will be dearly missed. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Gregosh and wife Helen of Clarks Summit; his sister, Mary Jane Franko of Falls; nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, John J. Gregosh, III, on September 11, 2005. Private funeral services have been scheduled for Tuesday at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, to be conducted by Rev. Gary J. Mensinger. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas of Myra Parish Cemetery. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Monday between 5-7:00PM at the funeral home.
