Dear Eileen, I'm so very sorry to hear of John's passing. My heartfelt prayers go out to you and your precious family. I just found out today. Dear Eileen, We felt bad, due to the tornado warnings, that we missed the calling hours on June 1st. Fortunately, there was every reason to go to Jack's funeral on June 2nd. Jack was a distinguished, scholarly, careful gentleman. You had placed a nice picture of him in the newspaper and on the program leaflet for the funeral mass at St. Mary's. The service was very moving. Your choice of hymns and readings was exceptional. The harp prelude was wonderful.

And his sister Monica beautifull;y described his affection for Chapter 3 of Ecclesiastes and how he had read it at both of his parents' funerals. At least, in your own family, you have given Jack a living memorial.

Jack was a, valued colleague at State Mutual, and a man of integrity and commitment who I also knew as members of the Worcester Torch Club. My condolences to Eileen and all of Jack’s family. With the angels may he rest dear Lord your servant Jack in a place where there is no pain, sorrow or suffering but life ever after. May his memory be eternal.

I worked with with Jack for my entire 30 year career at State Mutual/Allmerica. Not as an attorney, but as a client in Internal Audit / Financial Management. The family's final words were wrapped up in 3... excellence, commitment, integrity. Whenever a memo was initialed with a JJJJR, there were no questions asked, unless I just wanted to spend some more quality time with him. God Bless Jack. Peace.

Although I did not know Mr. Joyce, I have worked with his daughter Kristin for quite some time. After reading a bit about Mr. Joyce's life, I would say that he had many accomplishments, but to my mind, the greatest one was his children, and most specifically Kristin. She has always shown herself to be the most caring and willing to give of herself, even when she has nothing left to give. I would like to extend my sympathies to the family and will keep you all in my prayers.

Mr. J, as I affectionately called him, was a man never short of a bad joke, answers to any sports trivia question (whether you wanted to know or not) or a quick game of horse...but the one thing he always left me with was a smile on my face. Mr. J was like an uncle to me and I thank him so much for touching my life. He will be deeply missed and always remembered fondly. Sincerely, Eric

He gave to others on and off the job, through taking the extra time for an encouraging word and cheerfully rooting for the underdog. His puns were sly, many and fun. Jack was a great teacher of pension law: one of the very best. He was also a teacher of humanity and the value of service. While I only worked with Jack for few years at Allmerica, I found him to be a kind, wonderful, giving person who always had time for a colleague. My years at Allmerica were better because of Jack's insight and support. Unfortunately I will be unable to make the wake but want his family to know that my prayers and thoughts are with them.I will miss Jack.
