Mr. John D. “Jack” Rizzo Jr. of Saugus, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday afternoon May 28, 2011 at Windsor Place of Wilmington. He was 80 years old.

Jack was born on March 20, 1931 in Revere, he was one of three sons of the late John and Marion Rizzo.

Jack was raised and educated in Revere. He was an electrical installer for New England Telephone for 35 years and retired when he was 60 years old.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

Jack was a member of the Winthrop Elks and the IBEW. Jack loved fishing, watching baseball and football games, and growing tomatoes. But, more than anything else, Jack loved spending time with his two granddaughters.

Jack was the beloved husband of the late Arlene (Joyce) Rizzo with whom he shared 26 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Dawn Reidy and her husband Rich of Wilmington and Eric Rizzo and his wife Carin Bennett-Rizzo of Lynn. He was the dear brother of William Rizzo of Venice, FL and the late Richard Rizzo. Cherished grandfather of Veronica Reidy and Siobhan Reidy both of Wilmington. Dear uncle of William Rizzo of Byfield, Susan Roberts of Hamilton, Michael Rizzo of Los Angeles, CA, Christopher Rizzo of New Bedford, Mark Rizzo of Danvers, Paul Rizzo of RI and the late Richard Rizzo Jr.

Funeral from the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St, Melrose on Friday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in Jack’s honor at Blessed Sacrament Church, Summer St. Saugus at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8 PM.
Interment with military honors will be held in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
