Mr. John Joseph Beres

John Joseph Beres, age 92, of North Royalton, Ohio, beloved husband of 62 years of Fannie P. Beres (nee Petulla); loving father of Ann K. Soukup (Karl) of Sagamore Hills, Ohio and Joseph Beres (Jeannie) of Broadview Heights, Ohio; dear grandfather of Lisa Stasek (Scott) of Independence, Ohio, Tony Soukup (Lori) of Brecksville, Ohio and Dianne McFarland (Fred) of Northfield Center, Ohio, and great-grandfather of Rachel and Joshua Stasek, Victor, Addison, Hunter and Faith Soukup, and Christina and Vincent McFarland; dear brother of Helen Doherty, George and Joe Beres, and the late Cecilia Hess and Albert Beres; uncle of many. Mr. Beres was a United States Navy veteran of World War II, having served on the Gleaves class destroyer U.S.S. Duncan. He was retired from the Warner & Swasey Co. at East 55th Street and Carnegie Avenue in Cleveland following 30 years as a tool technician, and then worked part-time for 16 years at the Giant Eagle in North Royalton. He passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Memorial contributions may be forwarded to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44106. Prayer service at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 9:15 A.M. followed by Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 A.M. at St. Albert The Great Catholic Church, 6667 Wallings Road, North Royalton. Interment with U.S. Navy honors will follow at North Royalton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 7501 Ridge Road, Parma, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 20, 2011.
