John Lee Cook of Georgetown was born in Garrison, Texas to P.L. Cook and Rosa (Colvin) Cook on March 8, 1926 and passed away on Monday, November 1, 2010 at the age of 84. John married Ruby Cunningham in San Augustine, Texas on July 15, 1949.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy (Sea Bee) and was a veteran of World War ll. John was self employed as a Land man in the Oil Industry until his retirement. During his years as a member of the Baptist faith he served as a Deacon and was also a Mason.

John is preceded in death by his parents, P.L. Cook and Rosa Cook.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Cook of Georgetown, Texas; daughter, Susan Douglas of San Antonio, Texas; and son, John Lee Cook, Jr. of Georgetown, Texas.

Graveside services with the family will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Garrison, Texas.
