John Ferrer, 82, of Berthoud passed away on November 16, 2010. He was born on January 26, 1928 to Gregory and Isida (Botto) Ferrer in New York, New York. He graduated from High School in New Jersey. He was a former resident of New Jersey and New York, where he worked as a supervisor for the New York Port Authority for 34 years. In 2001, he moved to Colorado. John married Joyce Soltis at Schmidt's Bakery in Loveland in 2003. He was an avid sports fan and a very good bowler. He could be found at Sweetheart Lanes weekly. John loved gambling and the Jersey Shore. He was a member of the Crossroads Church in Loveland. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bill, and his first wife, Diane, who passed away in 1979. He is survived by his wife, Joy of Berthoud, her son, Jack (Marlene) Karal and daughter, Tammy (Mike) Vollmar; daughter's Kim Ferrer (partner, Kathy) and Donna (Andrei) Savon; a sister Josephine Tirado; and grandchildren, Taya, Damien, Shawn, Brandon, Kassidy, David, Barbara, Bryan, Terra, Kate, Derek, and Gracie. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel.
