John M Falls,Jr., passed away on December 27th, 2011, two days after greeting family members on the Christmas weekend. He was 84.
Falls was born on January 11th, 1927 in Wyandotte, Michigan. He was the son of John Falls, Sr. and the lovely Margaret George. Shortly after his return from Korea in '47, John relocated to Chicago then moved to Stockton. While in Stockton, John met his wife Noreen Poggi, and they were married in 1954.
In 1957, he opened his own store, John Falls Men's Shop, with partner Bob Deerinck. The store was a Miracle Mile fixture for 35 years. Since his retirement, he spent many years at Spike's in Lincoln Center and until October 2011, at Randall's in Lodi.
He has served on the boards and has been past president of Stockton Civic Theater, Pacific Athletic Foundation and Stockton Beautiful. All three organizations comprised many of his favorite people.
John is survived by his brother Jim, in-laws,Kitty, Mary and Don, his wife of 57 years, four offspring, their families and numerous other family members. He was often out with Noreen and friends at Civic Theater, in the Spanos Center, in Payter's, with the Irregulars at UJ's, at the Symphony or in the Haggin. His warm charm, wit and wisdom will be deeply missed. The Falls family would like to express its gratitude to the staff of Meadowood and Presentation Parish for its ministry during John's final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Cathedral of the Annunciation, corner of Rose and Van Buren Sts., Stockton, CA on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
