Hayes: John Michael Shackelford, 52, died unexpectedly March 22, 2012. Mike was born October 15, 1959 to the late Maywood C. Shackelford and the late Anna P. Shackelford. After the death of his father, Mike assumed the responsibilities of operating the family seafood business at Perrin, York River Seafood. His success was dedicated to hard work and the ability to handle any task that came his way. Mike loved to have fun, enjoyed life and he touched the lives of many people with his smile and sense of humor. He loved his family and will be missed.

A funeral of Christian Liturgy, officiated by Reverend James Cowles will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Committal services will be
in California.
