John P. Kelly, 90, of Newington, beloved husband of Pauline Ruth (Buesser) Kelly died after a long illness, Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in West New York, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Barbara (Van Wageninge) Kelly. John was a resident of Newington for the past 49 years. He was a graduate of Rutgers University and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. John was a budget manager for the Ellington Board of Education and previously for other school districts. He was a member of St. Mary�s Church, and was a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus and Past President of the Newington Senior Center. Along with his loving wife Pauline, John is survived by his daughter Maureen (Kelly) Jackson and her husband Charles, of Ellington, his four grandchildren Tara Krapalis and her husband Chris, Erin Brown and her husband Timothy, Brian Gaudreau, and Kristen Jackson, his three great-grandchildren Casey Krapalis, Taylor Krapalis, and Kaylee Brown, and his sister Doris Doyle, of West New York, NJ. John was predeceased by his daughter Kathleen Kelly Gaudreau and her husband Michael Gaudreau. John�s funeral service will be held Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary�s Church. Interment with military honors will be in West Meadow Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Newington Memorial.
