Niskayuna- Dr. John T. Sheridan 84, of Niskayuna, died peacefully at home Wednesday, July 20, 2011.
Dr. Sheridan was born in New York City, son of the late John and Elizabeth O'Brien Sheridan. He graduated from Regis High School in NYC and entered the US Navy. After his Honorable discharge from the Navy he graduated from Fordham University and New York Medical College - Flower.
Jack was an Anesthesiologist with Schenectady Anesthesia Associates and a physician at both Ellis and St. Clare's Hospital for 30 years. Jack served 2 terms on the Board of Directors with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Schenectady, and an active member of the Mohawk Golf Club and a long time parishioner of St. Helen's Parish.
Jack was predeceased by his son Jeffrey in 1971 and his beloved wife Joyce McIntosh Sheridan in 1997.
Survived by his daughter, Ellen Fobare and her husband David, and his sons John T. Sheridan Jr, Brian Sheridan and his wife Anne, Christopher Sheridan; grandchildren, Connor, Patrick, Matthew, Sloan, Ethan and Cate; his sister, Marybeth Walsh and her husband Marty; brothers Gregory, Peter and James.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian burial on Monday July 25 at 9 AM at St. Helen's Church. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 PM to 6 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady for those who wish to call. Burial will be in Most Holy redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in Dr. Sheridan's memory to Boys and Girls Club of Schenectady, P.O. Box 466, Schenectady, NY 12301-0466.
