John Henry Thomas of Chester and formerly of Folsom, PA was born June 13, 1929 to Hillie and Frances Pearl Greenly Thomas in Concordville, Pennsylvania. John was the 7th of 8 children all of whom preceded him in death: sisters Pearl, Clara, Elsie and Aristeen, brothers George, Howard and Russell. John received his education in the Concordville school system. John was married to the late Valerie Brown. He worked for Styers Nursery for several years, then worked for James J. Skelly Construction Co., Media, Pennsylvania until his retirement in 2004. John was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Chester. He was also affiliated with the Laborer's Local Union 413, and the Folsom Civic Association in Folsom, Pennsylvania. Some of John's hobbies included going to thrift shops, eating out at the diner, fishing, hunting, landscaping, and golf. He once was caddy to several well known golfers. However, John enjoyed his motorcycles most of all, and spending time with his motorcycle buddy "Montana." On Nov 16, 2009 the Lord called John to a place of rest. Fond and cherished memories of John and his big smile will ever be remembered by his nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law Mabel, Frances and Marjorie, his care-giver Janet Lang and a host of friends.
