NORFOLK----Mr. John B. Wilbon, 90, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009. He was born on February 2, 1919 and was a son of the late Thomas A. and Lila Satterwhite Wilbon. He proudly served in the U. S. Army-Air Corps and Air Force Reserves during WW II. He retired from the Naval Air Station after 36 years of service. In addition to his parents Mr. Wilbon was preceded in death by his wife Ann M. Wilbon, a brother Thomas Wilbon and a sister Rena Kizziar. He is survived by his sons John B. Wilbon, Jr., James P. Wilbon and a stepson William Rampey and his daughters Catherine Evancik, Carol Burlingame and Claire Grabow and (12) grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving father and husband, for his sense of humor, love of the outdoors and ability to build and fix anything. A memorial service will be held 4:00P.M. Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, by Rev. Steve Frazier. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to a favorite charity.
