John W. Willard, 92, passed away October 15, 2013. He was born on January 4, 1921 in Illinois. He retired to San Antonio after serving twenty years in the Army. He served his country proudly and was awarded the Purple Heart. He is preceded in death by his wife Lou Marie and son John I. John is survived by his daughter Peggy Lethio and her husband Dale, daughter in law Emily Willard, two granddaughters Kim Watts and Michelle Lethio, great grandchildren Danielle Alvarado, Samantha and Zachary Watts and great great grandchildren Sophia and Brooklyn Alvarado and other loving family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Service will be on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home and Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
