Mr. John William Markert

John W Markert, 81, died June 02, 2011, at his residence in Hobe Sound, FL.
Born in Union City, NJ, he moved to Palm City in 1997, coming from Point Pleasant, NJ and moving to Hobe Sound in 2005.
He was a retired Assemblyman for the State of New Jersey.
He was protestant and a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served on the USS Delta AR 9.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Jean Markert of Hobe Sound; daughters, Mary Ann Vaccaro of Ponte Vedra; Ruth Ellen Hala of Monroe, NY and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Markert and step-son, Gregory Chadwick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society,865 Southeast Monterey Commons Boulevard, Stuart, FL 34994.
SERVICES: Memorial Service will be 10:00 AM, July 23, 2011 at Forest Hills Palm City Chapel. Inurnment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park with military honors by U. S. Navy.
