John William Nemier Sr., 86, of Norfolk, Virginia, who was currently residing on West Hartford Ct., Norfolk, VA, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012. He was born November 14, 1925 in Pueblo, Colorado, the son of the late Ervin Henry Nemier and Catherine Byrkell Nemier. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances R. Nemier. Mr. Nemier was a World War II Navy veteran. Mr. Nemier was a devoted member of the church who served as a deacon in the Somme Avenue Church of Christ and as Pastor Elder in the Colonial Heights Church of Christ. Surviving him are his daughter, Catherine Sheridan and her husband Paul, of Windsor, CT; his son, John William Nemier, Jr. and his wife Gloria of Virginia Beach, VA; and his son; Richard Nemier of Granby, CT. Calling hours will be held at the Hollomon Brown Funeral Home in Norfolk on Friday, January 27, 2012, from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at the Colonial Heights Church of Christ in Norfolk, Saturday, January 28, 2012, at 11:00 a.m.
