John William Paul, 86, of Loveland died August 29, 2010 at Sierra Vista. He was born April 21, 1924 in Goodland, KS, to Malcolm and Isabelle (Carlton) Paul. He graduated from Loveland High and was on the 1942 State Football Championship Team. He served in the US Army from 1943 until 1946. On December 8, 1946, he married Betty Jo Briggs. John was a brick mason and was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church. John was a true Christian and devoted his life to God at the age of 34. He called Colorado "God's Country" and he loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and 4 sisters. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo; sons, Allen Lee (Sandy) Paul and Larry Paul; a daughter, Judy Paul Shults; a brother, Harry Paul; a nephew, Allen Hawthorne; brothers-in-law, Ron (Brenda) Briggs and Bob Briggs; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
