McCULLEY - JOHN WILMARTH McCULLEY, LT. COL (Ret.), age 90, loving husband and father and a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, November 10, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Barbara "Jean" McCulley of Albuquerque, NM; sons, John Michael (Karen) McCulley, Joseph Clark (Barbara) McCulley, and John Wilmarth (Carmen) McCulley Jr.; and grandson, John Wilmarth McCulley III. Mr. McCulley was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Martha Wilmarth McCulley; and his grandmother who raised him after his mother passed away, Margaret "Sweetheart" Wilmarth. He was a very humble man but was proud of his service to his country as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force and that he was B-29 Bomber Pilot during that time. He also served in the capacity as an Air Traffic Controller and helped train others in that field. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Heights First Church of the Nazarene, 8401 Paseo Del Norte NE, with Pastor Bill Nielson officiating. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, 7020 AC Skinner Parkway, Suite 100, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
