Johnnie is survived by his two children, Jordan Nichols, 16, and Calvin Nichols, 15, mother Gwen Hermens, stepfather Joe Hermens of McMinnville, father Dean Nichols, stepmother Mary Nichols of Salem, two sisters Patty Ringnalda and her husband Larry of Dayton and Pam Fontenot and her husband Dennis of Tucson, AZ, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Johnnie graduated from McMinnville High School in 1985 where he played basketball and baseball and was named High School Player of the Year 1985. He attended the University of Portland where he continued to play baseball, followed by more schooling and baseball at George Fox University. His hobbies were camping, fishing, golf and spending time with his children. Memorial services will be held Friday, August 14, 2009 at 3:00 pm at Chapel of Macy and Son in McMinnville. In lieu of flower, an account has been set up at First Federal, McMinnville, for his children’s education..
