Jones C. "Eli" Fesperman, 84, of the 100 block of Francis Street, passed away June 27, 2009, in Maryview Hospital.A native of Rowan County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Hoke and Mamie Fesperman. He retired from the Ford Motor Company. He was a past member of Alexander Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army Airborne veteran. He is survived by his two daughters, Donna Talani and her fiancé Richard Doss of Chesapeake, VA and Rita Raynor and her husband Jerry of Wilmington, NC; and three grandchildren, Amy Raynor of Valdosta, GA, Kim Johnson and her husband Sam of Wilmington, NC and Shaun Chappell of Portsmouth, VA. He is also survived by a brother, Larry Fesperman of Rockwell, NC; two sisters, Edith Duncan and Shirley Cline, both of Rockwell, NC; and his former wife, Ola Fesperman of Chesapeake, VA. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 12 Noon in the Mausoleum Chapel at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens with a funeral service beginning at 12 Noon with Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood officiating. Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.snellingsfuneralhome.com.
