Joseph Anthony Ustick, USN (Ret), 87, of the 2300 block of Battery Park Rd., Chesapeake, VA, passed away May 17, 2011, in his home. A native of Amesbury, MA, he was the son of the late Peter and Anna Ustick. He retired from the US Navy after 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Nitaya; two sisters, Ann Stefanski and Mary Poel; a daughter, Diane White; a son, Tom Ustick; a daughter, Cathie Bales; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Parkinson's Foundation.
