On Tuesday, March 23, 2010, Joseph C. "Barney" Redente passed away peacefully at his home in Branford, CT. Joe is survived by his best friend and wife of 58 years, Theresa Ruocco Redente; his daughter and son-in-law, Roseanne and Anthony Fabrizio; their daughters, Theresa (Ralph) Douston and Roxanne Fabrizio; and great-grandson, Jacob Douston. Joe is also survived by his sister, Josephine (Joseph) Finelli. Joe was predeceased by his son, Michael (Yogi) Redente; his brothers, Andrew, Gerald, Anthony and Dominic Redente; and his sister, Anna Rubino. Barney, as he was affectionately known to family and friends, was employed by C.W. Blakeslee and Sons for over 40 years. He was a proud member of Teamsters Local 443 and served as shop steward and trustee for a period of time during the 1960's. He strongly believed in the rights of the working man and represented his drivers on several occasions while serving as steward. Joe died the way he lived, with dignity. Although he received no formal education, he was well read and over a lifetime became extremely insightful regarding human nature. He will be greatly missed by his family for his ability to express the profound with humor and wit. Funeral from the W. S.
