JOSEPH PATRICK CAROZZO, age 78, of Avondale, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester, PA. He was the husband of Beatrice Bond Carozzo, and with whom he shared 38 years of marriage.

Born in Montchanin, DE, he was the son of the late John and Catherine Marenco Carozzo.

Joseph enjoyed growing mushrooms and was a partner of Carozzo & DiBenedetto in New Garden, PA. He was a member of St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Church in Avondale, PA. He enjoyed having dinner with his friends at The Brown Derby and loved having pet dogs, especially his two dogs Holly & Pepe.

In addition to his wife Beatrice, Joseph is survived by one daughter, Catherine Taylor of Avondale, PA, two sons, William Carozzo and his wife Barbara of Kennett Square, PA, and Augustine Carozzo and his wife Nancy, of Kennett Square, PA, one sister, Mary Katalik of Wilmington, DE, eleven grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Victor Carozzo, Augustine L. Carozzo and John Carozzo.

You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Church, 8910 Gap Newport Pike (Rt. 1), Avondale, PA, and again from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at the church. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be private.

Contributions in Josephs memory may be made to Neighborhood Hospice, 400 East Marshall Street, West Chester, PA 19380.
