Joseph D. Holland, 74, of the 1200 block of Grenadier, Chesapeake, VA, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, after a long illness. A native of Richmond, VA, he was born to the late William and Zuleime Robertson Holland. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and business owner for thirty years, operating Joseph D.Holland Truck and Equipment Repair and JDH Trucking. Joseph is survived by his wife, Catherine M. Holland; five children, Cris, Karen, Sherry, Michael, and Johanna; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Anne Seymour; and a brother, Billy Holland. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sherrie. A graveside service will be conducted on Friday at 3 p.m. at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends before the service from 2 to 3 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
