Joseph F. Rossie, 85, of Cleveland and long-time resident of Rockford, IL, loving father of Joe, Donna and Karen Rossie (Bill); dear grandfather of David, Ben and Grace Rossie; dear brother of Mary Lou Wentling and Sarah Boyert; companion and friend of pet cat Queenie. Mr. Rossie was a retired aerospace engineer from Sunstrand Aviation in Rockford, IL, and held multiple patents for motors and pumps, some of which were equipment on the space shuttle, and was a past president of S.A.E. He was also proud to have conquered Mt. Whitney on 3 separate occasions during his lifetime. He also managed the 1969 Broadview Hts. girls softball team, winners of the Greater Cleveland Championship that year. He passed away Friday, January 13, 2012.
