Joseph Henry Martony, 73, passed away Friday, February 3, 2012 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. Born in Detroit, MI, he spent most of his life in Fort Wayne. Joe participated in an apprenticeship through Central High School with International Harvester (Navistar). He became a design engineer and continued his career there for 41 years, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed golf and Indiana University Basketball.

Surviving are his former wife, Judy Martony of New Haven, and mother of their three children, Joe (Eva) Martony of Chandler, AZ, Julie Martony (Rick Derickson) of Fort Wayne, Jeannine (Rick) Mettler of Bluffton, grandchildren, Katie, Connelly and Caroline Mettler all of Bluffton, and former wife, Rita (Mack) Martony of Fort Wayne. Joseph was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Germaine Martony, and brother, Robert Martony.

Service is 11:00 am, Thursday, February 9, 2012 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue. Calling will be Wednesday, February 08, 2012 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Thursday, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am.
