Joseph "Joe" Leith Violette, 74, an Annapolis resident for 27 years, and previously of Doylestown, PA, died January 8 of septic shock after a one week illness.
Born June 30, 1937 to the late Madeline and Leith Violette, Joe received an Associate's Degree from Becker Jr. College. He was a Sales Executive for Nabisco. A lifetime Red Sox fan, he also enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Alaska and the Caribbean. Joe was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Annapolis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Patricia, in October 2010.
Joe is survived by a son, Brian Violette of Rockland, MA; two daughters, Therese Violette of Newton, MA and Kristine Marshall of Clifton, VA; sisters, Elaine Berriman of Tiverton, RI and Evelyn Whitney of Raleigh, N.C.; six grandchildren, Colleen, Kyle and Kelsey Marshall, Caleb, Sarah and Hannah Violette.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 13 at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, Inc., 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 14 at St. Mary's Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Stroke Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
