Joseph M. Farry, Jr., 55, a resident of Maid Marion Home, a part of the Charles Lea facility in Spartanburg, went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2011.

Born May 6, 1956 in Knoxville, Tennessee, he was a son of Betty Farry Benson of Knoxville, TN and the late Joseph M. Farry.

Joe had a heart as big as his head and he loved people. He was happiest with his family and his adopted family at Maid Marion. He loved going to the Waffle House and being able to order exactly what he wanted.

Surviving are his mother, Betty Farry Benson (King Benson) of Knoxville, TN; three brothers, Michael A. Farry (Betsy) of Greenville, SC, John D. Farry (Trish) of Knoxville, TN, and Charles B. Farry (Elena) of Huntersville, NC; two nephews, Robert M. Farry and Thomas W. Farry, both of Greenville, SC; and two nieces, Gianna Farry of Huntersville, NC and Katie Wallace of Knoxville, TN.

The family would like to express its deep appreciation for the love, care and compassion shown by all those with the Charles Lea facility and Maid Marion Home, who took care of and worked with Joe over these many years.

Visitation will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive.

Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Joseph Farry officiating. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family is at the home of Joe's brother, Michael A. Farry, 10 Running Springs Court, Greer, SC 29650.
