Joseph Michael Carney, Jr., 49, of the 100 block of Landale Rd., Norfolk, VA, died Jan. 26, 2012, in Virginia Beach, VA. He was born in Dubois, PA and was a concrete supervisor for J.M. Briggs Concrete Company. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Carney; girlfriend, Daria Hohman; father, Joseph M. Carney, Sr. and his wife Susan; five sisters, Brenda Carney of Bradenton, FL, Debbie Yeager of Punxsutawney, PA, Tammi Ward of Indiana, PA, Tonia McEwen of Sandy Lake, PA and Trina Carney of Punxsutawney, PA; two brothers, Gale Davis of Phoenix, AZ and Edward Carney of Hamilton, PA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosella Davis of Punxsutawney, PA; and a sister, Norma Carney. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday 6 to 9 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
