Joseph Richard Bohn, Jr., was born in Toledo, Ohio, on September 5, 1929, to the late Joseph R. and Ruth Ann Bohn. Joe graduated from Central Catholic High School in Toledo in 1947. He entered the University of Toledo following high school. His stay at the university was interrupted when he enlisted to serve in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. Upon leaving the service, he returned to the University of Toledo to earn both his bachelor's and master's degree in Business Administration. Joe worked his whole career at the Dana Corporation, first in Toledo and then transferred to the metropoloitan Detroit area. He held the position of Sales Manager for Dana until his retirement. Joe married his wife, Joan (nee Urbanowicz), on July 6, 1957, in Toledo, Ohio. They have resided in Bloomfield Hills for the past 44 years and would have celebrated their 55th anniversary this July. He died on April 18, 2012, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. Joseph was a member of the Birmingham Senior Men's Club and an usher at the Church of St. Owen in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He was an avid reader, who kept up with current events from around the world. He especially enjoyed history. He and Joan did extensive travel, especially to Europe, having experienced the ambiance of France and Italy. They had also done several Carribean cuises. Joseph Richard Bohn, Jr. is the beloved husband of Joan; dear father of J.R. (Donna); loving grandfather of Connor and brother of James Bohn and Mary Dee Weber. A Memorial Mass will be held 11 AM Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at the Church of St. Owen, 6869 Franklin Rd. (S. of Maple Rd.) Bloomfield Hills, MI 48301. Visitation at Church begins at 10:30 AM. Inurnment, with military honors, will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan.
