HUBBARD Joseph Truchan, 84, died Friday evening, September 25, 2009, at Sharon Regional Health System. He was born March 17, 1925, in Saegertown, PA, a son of John and Veronica Maleski Truchan and was a life long area resident. Joe was a self employed carpenter for over 55 years. He was of the Catholic Faith and a former member of the Carpenters Union Local 268, the West Middlesex American Legion and the local DAV chapter. He served in World War II in the Solomon and Philippine Islands as a Technical Sergeant with the 37th Infantry Division of Ohio and received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Joe enjoyed gardening, travel and especially reading. His wife, the former Donna Fedders, whom he married November 20, 1948, died January 18, 1999. He leaves two sons, Gary (April) Truchan of West Middlesex, and Wayne (Brenda) Truchan of Masury; a daughter in law, Debra Truchan of West Middlesex; a brother, Art (Stella) Truchan of Hermitage; two sisters, Helen August of Ohio and Josephine (Leo) Smigel of Hermitage; his special friend Sherry and her family; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Joseph Truchan, a granddaughter, Kristen Truchan and two brothers, Hank and Tom Truchan. Funerals services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 8 pm.
