Josephine Ann Seebeck – Josie to her many friends, and Jo to her immediate family. Josie was born into a military family and remained an active-duty dependent for all her life, a true "military brat." She was born on Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama and lived in Virginia (twice), Texas, Arizona, Germany, and at school in Michigan. Josie had an out-going, vibrant personality – she loved life! She was also humble and selfless. She bonded with many people from all walks of life, young and old, male and female. Josie was an active Catholic. She had volunteered to aid the infirmed in 2010 at Lourdes, France and attended World Youth Day in Madrid, Spain in 2011. A natural athlete, soccer was Josie's passion. She played all of her life at very high levels. She had many athletic accomplishments, but a highlight was leading her team to the European Soccer Championship during her senior season in 2012 while playing with her freshman sister, Katherine. Soccer opened many doors and experiences for Josie including being the only American on an elite German women's team. Her long-term goal was to play NCAA Division I soccer. She achieved that goal in 2012 joining the Women's Soccer team at Central Michigan University. At CMU she was named to the MAC All-Freshman Team for 2012 and helped the Chippewa's earn a berth in the NCAA Championship Tournament. She considered her coaches, support staff, and especially her teammates, a second family. Although she left us just short of her twentieth birthday, Josie compacted a lot in her brief life visiting over 30 countries and touching the lives of literally thousands of people. Her life was a force for good that made all around her better. She continues to positively touch people and make them better, perhaps even more so now. As she was the heart of the Seebeck family, her parents and four sisters will sorely miss Josephine. Although they will miss her physical presence in their daily lives, they are comforted in their firm belief that she will continue to guide them, and others, through her spiritual presence. They look forward to the joy of seeing her again. SERVICES Visitation will be held from 6-9:00PM Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00PM. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Fr. Dennis Arechiga on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 10:00AM at St. Mathew Catholic Church 10703 Wurzbach Rd. San Antonio, TX . The family will hold a reception following the Mass. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
