C. Josephine "Jo" Wilson, 94, of Pennsboro, WV passed away Friday, October 15, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg. Jo was born March 1, 1916, in Pennsboro, WV, the daughter of the late Grover and Vada (Taylor) Collins. Jo was a graduate of Pennsboro High School with the class of 1934 and later from Salem College in 1968. Jo had been a longtime member of the former E.U.B. Methodist Church of Pennsboro, WV and a current member of the Pennsboro United Methodist Church. She was employed as an elementary school teacher in the Ritchie County School System for 25 years, teaching at the Ellenboro Grade School and Creed Collins Elementary School, Pennsboro, WV. Jo started her teaching career at the former Trilby one room schoolhouse on Lynn Camp Road, near Pennsboro, WV. Jo was a life member of the National and West Virginia Retired Teacher's Association, member of the Pennsboro Chapter Order of Eastern Star #26, Rt. 1 CEOS, Pennsboro, WV, Ritchie County Historical Society, and a member of the Daughters of American Revolution. Jo enjoyed spending winters in the Florida Keys for 24 years where she made many wonderful friends and memories. Jo also enjoyed painting, sewing, and gardening along with homemaking and visiting with her lifelong friends, neighbors, and family. Jo is survived by her cherished husband of 72 years, O. C. "Bob" Wilson, Pennsboro, WV. They were united in marriage on October 5, 1938; sons, Edmund Bruce Wilson (Fayetta), Pennsboro, WV and Julian Kerry Wilson (Linda), Parkersburg, WV; daughter, Diana Brice Benedum, River Road, Pennsboro, WV; grandchildren, Edmund Bruce Wilson II and Lauren Elise Benedum, both of Pennsboro, WV, Richard Kerry Wilson and Matt Douglas Wilson, both of Parkersburg, WV, and Angela Dawn Wilson, Denver, CO. In addition to her parents, Jo was preceded in death by her aunts, Myrtle Collins, who also was a retired school teacher, Leontine Davis, Hattie Primm, Pearl Collins, and Earnestine Haymond and her uncles, Ben and Walter Collins.
