Joy passed away in the early morning of Thursday with family by her side. Joy was a very special person and impacted a lot of lives. While raising her children, she drove a school bus for Park Hill School District. In the early 80's, Joy went to work for Tri-County Mental Health and North Kansas City Hospital. When she was not working, she enjoyed gardening in the spring and scrapbooking when she could not be in her garden. Joy retired from North Kansas City Hospital in 2011 after being diagnosed with Leukemia.
Joy was born July 31, 1940, in Kansas City, MO to Thomas Crutsinger and Eula Jane Manley. Her family moved to San Diego, CA, where she graduated from high school in 1958 and attended San Diego Junior College.
In 1959, Joy was united in marriage to Johnny Johnson. To the union was born 5 daughters, Jeannie, Judy, Jill, Jane, and Joan. Along with 2 adopted sons, Tim and Ted. She was a grandmother to 16 and great-grandmother to 11.
Services will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home Saturday, January 7, 2012 visitation is at 5:00pm, service to follow at 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorials be made to Leukemia Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Ave. Suite 310 White Plains, NY 10605
