Joyce Elaine Thomas, 79, of Albion, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011. Born in Fort Wayne, Elaine was a graduate of Elmhurst High School in 1951 and retired from Navistar in 1986. She enjoyed reading, writing letters, and sending out cards. Elaine is survived by her son, William (Janet) Thomas of Albion, IN; grandchildren, Jennifer, Bradley (Rebekah), and Nathanael (Allison Hamman) Thomas; brother, Gerald "Bud" Johnson of Fort Wayne; and sisters, Betty Freeman of Coldwater, MI and Lorelei "Susie" Pinkerton of Huntington, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Paul Thomas; and sisters, Virgidell Sward, Beatrice Handley, and Mary Wolfe; brother Donald Johnson. Service is 2:00 pm Thursday, May 26, 2011 at D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave with Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. Visitation from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN. Memorials may be made to the Noble County Council on Aging.
