Mrs. Joyce Ferguson

I never met Joyce but I have heard many great things about her. That she was Loving and caring to her family and many friends. From the pictures I have seen of her, i saw beauty, a unique face and kind eyes. I wish I would have had a chance to meet her and her family. someday i will hopefully meet her in Heaven where we all belong. I love you Joyce!!!!!

I remember every conversation with you after Tyler's diagnosis...I would thank you for the money of gift and you would say ..." I feel terrible.li wish I could do more". Those were your famous words.....you ALWAYS wanted to do more. Little did you know you helped all of us more than we let off. You left so many great memories behind...and like uncle bill said...we can only hope and strive to take some of that with us. If I could learn to be even half than woman you were...I know I will be doing good. Your patience was saint like...I want to strive for this.

Your pool in suffern....we were not allowed in the "deep end", cape may new jersey....you and I were often the only ones that would sneak of to get coffee ice cream when everyone else got soft serve., your calmness when jimmy was lost on the boardwalk, your flowers...I will always remember your flowers..you had such a green thumb, the dinners you made for us all the years you babysat us...Stromboli...ham and cheese crossoints,, your chicken nachos....and who could forget your homemade Mac and cheese (No one makes it better than you), shopping at kids r us with you for back to school shopping, you Christmas presents...they were never a sweater you would hide in the back of the closet....no they were always over the top and something you really thoug

--Unfortunately, on Dec 29, 2011 at 2:25 pm, Mimi passed away in room 4361 at Mease Countryside Hospital. Although, a very bitter moment losing someone you love so much, it was a sweet moment in that she was surrounded by loved ones. 12 family members gathered around Mimi’s bedside to join her in her final sacrament, the anointing of the sick with Father Joe. The power in that room was unbelievable as we prayed the Hail Mary holding hands around her. I could feel God and Aunt Lisa in the room as she was in the midst of joining them. This experience with my family, I will never forget. In the four years I’ve been a nurse, I have never seen a family so upset to see their loved one leave earth. ALL of us placed our hands over Mimi’s body as we kneeled down on the ground praying over her telling her how much we loved her. Even though Aunt Donna, Uncle Joe and their families were not there yet, they were def there in spirit. Mimi deserved all this and more. Mimi was such an amazing woman her whole life and it showed what an influence she made on everyone in the room on that final day. It’s difficult to describe what an incredible person she was but who needs words? The presence and love in that room said it all. She led a beautiful family and raised five wonderful children, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She followed the 10 commandments and lived the word of God each and every day of her life. So lets all be at peace knowing that she is in the kingdom of heaven with our Father and Aunt Lisa. I feel blessed to have had such a special grandmother who taught me about the person I want to be, and am today.

Mimi was my sponsor for Conformation and has always led me spiritually, and morally. I am honored to wear her engagement diamond around my neck, a special gift her and Pappap gave me for my 16th birthday. I will wear this as a symbol of what a blessed marriage they have had for the past 57 yrs. I hope to follow in their footsteps.

Not too many people have had the pleasure of having their grandmother in their lives especially at my age. Some of my closest friends never even knew their grandmother. Her water pick that we all made a mess out of in her bathroom. The years of her babysitting us on sapphire lane and teaching us how to speak proper English. “Its drawer not draw” Our subway lunch dates at her house catching up on the latest, and especially her big heart and concern for all of us. These are some of the things I will miss most about my grandmother; Joyce Ingrid Ferguson, better know as mimi to the grandchildren. A true saint and a very special person, not just to me, but too so many. Someone I admire everyday and have always looked up to.

--Her strength to go through all of her surgeries and her fight to never give up was truly admirable. I always used her as an example to my patients, some of whom were decades younger than her that wanted to just give up so easily. My grandma never did. When she had her leg amputated to save her life, she could’ve easily given up. She could’ve gone through the motions with a chip on her shoulder being mad at the world. But she did not, she set herself a goal to walk again. After many months of hard work and dedication, which truly epitomizes Mimi, she walked into my parent’s house on Christmas day beaming with pride. Her walking through the hous

I was soo sorry to hear of your grandmother's passing. Sometimes loved ones are taken from us sooner than we would like making it a difficult time. Know that your grandmother was loved by many and that she is in heaven with the angels watching over you and your family. Memories of her will sustain you, but never replace her in your heart.
