Joyce I. Maine, 84, born in Plankinton, SD on April 5, 1926, peacefully passed away with her family by her side on September 9, 2010. She joined her children Randy and Juanita Diaz, parents James and Caroline Maine, brothers Bob and Howard, and sister Gladys in Heaven.

She is survived by her twin sister Jeanne Seiders, of South Dakota, daughters Rita (Richard) Larios and Beverly Diaz, grandchildren Jason (Karlyn) Diaz, Antonia Chacon, Melody Diaz, Serafino Diaz-Mazzei and great grandson Jordan Chacon-Del Bosque.

Joyce moved to Phoenix in 1950 and was an RN for 42 years. "Ma" was a dedicated baseball fan of the Cubs and Diamondbacks. She loved fishing and traveling, though spending time with her loved ones brought her the most happiness. She touched the lives of many through her kindness and generosity whether it was a place to live, money for daily expenses, or a shoulder to lean on. She will be deeply missed, but always remembered by her loved ones in Arizona as well as many more in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota and Texas.

Visitation will be September 15, 2010 from 9:00-11:00 am at Greer Wilson Funeral Home, 5921 W. Thomas Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85033. Services to follow 11:00-12:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Greenwood Memory Lawn 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ 85009.

A special thank you to all the staff at The Gardiner House who helped fill her last days with dignity, respect, and honor. Our family is forever thankful for all the compassion you showed us through this difficult time.
