To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born… and so it was October 13, 1953 Joyce LeShield Mack was born to the late Rashield Mack and the late Maudester Geneva Cusack Mack in Pamplico, South Carolina. And a time to die… she departed this life on June 15, 2010 at the Carolinas Hospital System, Florence, South Carolina. Joyce attended the public schools of Florence County, graduating from Hannah Pamplico High School in 1971. Joyce attended Massey Business School of Jacksonville, FL. before migrating to New York. In January 1977, Joyce enlisted into the United States Air Force where she served faithfully until she was medically retired in February 1989. She was not completely satisfied, so she enrolled at the Frances Marion University in Florence, SC, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology in 1998. At the age of 12 years old, Joyce accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at Trinity A.M.E. Church. While in New York, she joined St. John A.M.E. Church where she worked and sang on the Young Adult Choir from 1972 to 1976. August 7, 1982 she married the love and joy of her life, Mr. Henry Badie, Jr. who was also a serviceman. One daughter, Germaine Angelique, was brought into this union. They truly obeyed the Bible and lived and loved until death departed them. Evangelist Joyce L. Badie labored fervently for the Lord as a Secretarial Administrative Assistant at 24th Avenue C.O.G.I.C., Tampa, FL; Open Door C.O.G.I.C., Austin, TX; and faithfully supported her husband as First Lady of Living Word Fellowship, Naples, Italy and Pentecostal Temple C.O.G.I.C., Florence, SC. She co-labored with the Pastors, Elders and Ministers Wives Circle, Women's Department and District Secretary of J.H. Sherman District of the North Carolina Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church Of God In Christ. Joyce served as Executive Director of Unity Unlimited Community Services Lighthouse Ministries, City of Florence Faith Based Partnership and the Florence Homeless Coalition. She leaves to cherish fond and precious memories: her devoted husband of 27 years, Pastor Henry Badie, Jr.; a loving daughter, Germaine Angelique Badie, Ft. Walton Beach, FL; one passionate and caring sister, Theresa Evelyn Mack-Davis, New York City, NY; her big brother, George Milton Mack, Florence, SC; an uncle, Edward Mack; two aunts, Rhoda Woods and Willie Mack Cusack; four nephews; one niece; two brothers in-law, Melvin Davis and Bill (Brenda) Badie; one sister in-law, Joann (Jerry) Young; a host of other relatives, friends, the Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ Family and the North Carolina Second Jurisdiction Family.
