Joyce (Vitacco) Liefbroer, 82, of Dover, died Friday, July 13, 2012, in Russellville. She was born November 12, 1929, at Racine, Wisconsin, to Joseph Thomas and Alexina Maranger Vitacco. She was a former employee of the Oster Manufacturing Company in Racine, had worked for the Westat Research organization as an information gatherer, and was a former employee of the U. S. Forestry Service near Hector. She was well known as "Grand Mama", and was a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose focus was her family, as well as other people. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, the Dover Ladies Social Club and St. John's Catholic Church in Russellville. She was a person who loved the memories of the past, but embraced today and looked forward to the future. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 50 years, Harold G. Liefbroer.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph G. and Judy Liefbroer of Conway, and Harold T. Liefbroer of Russellville; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan M. and Otis Hibbard of Dover; six grandchildren, Jennifer Ehlen, Amy Howard, Cheryl Bolden, Jesse Hibbard, Joseph Hibbard and Michelle Lewis; thirteen great-grandchildren; and was blessed with a relationship with her companion of fourteen years, Bill Wynn.
Funeral services by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville are private.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
