Joyce Darlene (Aanonson) Yates the daughter of Arthur and Effie (Olson) Aanonson was born February 24, 1930 and died on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville, Iowa at the age of 81.
She was born in Emmet County and educated in the Estherville schools, graduating from Estherville High School in 1948.
Joyce was united in marriage to Arnold Ray Yates on April 9, 1950. She held various office positions in Emmet County. Joyce was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church, Sarah Circle and Wa Ton Ye. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, knitting and spending time with her family and friends.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Arnold of Estherville; her children, Douglas Yates and his wife, Charlene of Buffalo, Minnesota; Susan Bueltel and her husband, Douglas of Humboldt, Iowa; three grandsons, Matthew Yates of Vancouver, Washington; Nathan Yates of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Jonathan Bueltel of Humboldt, Iowa and her sister-in-law, Alice Prentice of Estherville.
She has been preceded in death by her parents.
