Juanita Jill Gilbert-Hankins, 33, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on February 21, 2011, in a local hospital. She was born in Key West, FL. Juanita is survived by two sons, Deviyahn Hankins and Arden Racelis, Jr.; her mother and father, Angelita and the late Homer Gilbert, Jr.; a sister and brother-in-law, Tina and Josh Smith; sister, Christa Gilbert; brother, David Gilbert; niece and nephew, Christina Zombar and Zachary Smith; aunts, Nenette Crouch and Carol Calma; cousins, EJ and Angie Crouch, Ina Crouch, James Crouch, Colby Alves, and Donavin Crouch; and a multitude of extended family and friends. Even though her life was way too short, she touched many lives and was a friendly face to all those around her. She was strong and all you could ask for in a mom, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend. She was a wonderful person and had a heart bursting with love. Her family was blessed to have her and her sons lucky to have had such a loving mom. She will be deeply missed by all. A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2011, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church by the Rev. Fr. Leo Manalo. Entombment will follow at Princess Anne Memorial Park. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel where the family will remain until 9 p.m. to receive friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chartway Federal Credit Union Account #1032954-00 in care of Deviyahn and A. J. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
