Judith Kane Connors, 84, passed away January 20, 2012, at Atlantic Shores. She was born in Geneva, NY and was preceded in death by her husband, Capt. Eugene Timothy Connors, USN Ret. Among her many activities, she was a member of Ocean Park Civic League, Ocean Park Womens Club, Virginia Beach Council of Civic Organizations, Bayfront Advisory Committee, Retired Officers Wives, member of board of directors of the Francis Land House, was the first women appointed to the Virginia Beach Board of Zoning Appeals and Past Regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah C. Vanderbeek and husband Tony of Fairfax Station, VA; sons, Eugene T. Connors, Jr. and wife DeeAnn of Great Falls, VA and David Willat and wife Linda of Santa Rosa, CA; step daughter, Gail Patterson of Virginia Beach, VA; four grandchildren, T.J. Vanderbeek, Christine Vanderbeek, Ryan Willat and Kelly Pincus; and one great grandchild, Mason. The family wants to thank the staff of Sentara Leigh, Sentara Virginia Beach General, Seaside at Atlantic Shores and Wendy Herman-Tross for their loving care. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 23, 2012, at 11 a.m. in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with Rev. Christiano Brito officiating. The family will greet friends at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. Burial will be in Southford Cemetery, Oxford, CT. Memorial donations may be made to Friends of the Historic Houses, Frances Land House, 3131 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23452 or a charity of one's choice.
