Judith Rose Hewitt, 57, of the 2400 block of Livesay Road, Chesapeake, VA, passed away September 16, 2010, in her home. A native of Chesapeake, VA, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was the daughter of the late Alton and Fannie Roberson. She was active in the PTA's at G.A. Treakle Elementary and Deep Creek Jr. High Schools. She was active in Ways and Means of the Deep Creek Boys Baseball. She was predeceased by her loving daughter, Heather Renee Hewitt. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Dewayne Lee Hewitt, Sr.; three sons, Dewayne Lee Hewitt, Jr. and wife Monica of Columbia, NC, Christopher W. Hewitt of Chesapeake, VA and girlfriend Helen Truelove, and Jonathan W. Hewitt, Sr. and wife Amanda of Chesapeake, VA; eight grandchildren, Cody Lee Hewitt, Tyler Goyens, Kaitlyn Allen, Olivia Hewitt, Christina Hewitt, Colby Hewitt, Jonathan Hewitt, Jr. and Tiffany Hewitt; a brother, Robbie Roberson of Chesapeake, VA; and a niece, Lynnette Honeycutt. She is also survived by her in-laws, Olen and Dot Hewitt of Chesapeake, VA. A funeral service will be conducted Monday at 12 p.m. at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.snellingsfuneralhome.com.
