Julia M. Ray, 81, passed away Monday, March 15, 2010 peacefully in her home on Coldwater Lake, MI. Born in Allen County, she graduated from Elmhurst High School in 1947 and worked as a Payroll Clerk with General Electric for 8 years. She was a very social person who loved interacting with family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, and cherished her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting, living at the lake, snowmobiling, and IU basketball. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Carl Ray of Coldwater, MI; sons, Gregory (Gail) Ray of Racine, WI, and Jeffery W. Ray and companion Lisa Roberts of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Stephanie, Jennifer, Scott Ray; great-grandchild, Logan Ray; brothers, James (Barbara) Waldrop of Columbia City, and Marvin (Sharon) Waldrop of GA; and sister, Phyllis (Jac) Wilkinson of GA. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Ruth (Carrier) Waldrop. Service is 2 p.m. Friday at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road.
