Julia entered life with our Savior Jesus Christ on Easter Monday, April 25, 2011. She died peacefully at her residence, North Shore Health and Rehab Facility. Julia was born on February 18, 1917 in El Paso, Texas. She spent her early years as a dedicated daughter and sister working for her family as she grew up and then later as both a hairdresser and bank teller at Fort Bliss during WWII. She loved spending her free time with her brothers, sisters and many nieces and nephews on Nabhan Drive. Julia married her husband of nearly 60 years, Louis, on June 20, 1951. Together they raised their three children on a dairy farm in the El Paso Valley. In 1993, Louis and Julia moved to Colorado to be near their children and grandchildren. Julia, who was known as "Siti" to all her grandchildren, loved to play bingo and to provide for her entire family through her delicious cooking. Julia was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Adele and Mabel; brothers, Iso, Eddie, Jimmy, Fred and Willie: and by her beloved son, David. She is survived by her husband, Louis J. Burrus; daughters, Annette Burrus and Suzanne (Gary) Watterson; daughter-in-law, LeeAnn Burrus; and grandchildren, Audra, Ryan, Brandon, Chelsey, Sarah, Courtney and Coleton. The family would like to express a heartfelt "thank you" to Debbie Winger, her caregiver of many years, as well as the staff, nurses and aides at North Shore Health and Rehab for the love and care they provided for Julia over the past year and a half. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 28 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 29th at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Interment Resthaven Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 S Hwy 287, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
