Julian Cargill Owen, 85, Kearney, Missouri passed away July 12, 2011 at Liberty Terrace Care Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 15 at Church Of The Annunciation, 701 N. Jefferson St., Kearney, MO 64060. Visitation will be 7:30-9:00 P.M., Thursday, July 14 at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home. Entombment will be 2:30 P.M. Friday at Mt. Mora Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Church of The Annunciation Building Fund.
J.C. was born June 7, 1926 in St. Joseph, Missouri to James Arthur and Pauline (Burkhalter) Owen. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, a charter member of VFW Post 5606 and a member of American Legion. J.C. was also a charter member of Northland Optimist Club. He worked in the trucking industry his whole career retiring as manager of dealer relations from Volvo-White Truck. Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers, James Owen, Herbert Owen and John F. Owen. Survivors include a son, John C. Owen and wife Barbara, Kearney, MO; two grandsons, John C. Owen and wife Shantell, Bentonville, AR and Jeffrey T. Owen and wife Carmen, Milo, MO; a granddaughter, Amy Battagler and husband Randy, Raytown, MO; four great grandsons and two great granddaughters.
